One, one-thousand, two, one-thousand...

Last night there was an incredible thunder storm, but it also meant we had 2 kids awake and scared. I remember when I was a kid we had this big front window and we'd turn our couch around and watch the lightning and count to see how far away it is (don't know if that's true or not, but we did it anyway). So last night I tried to get my kids excited about the lightning and the thunder that followed so they wouldn't be so scared. We turned our couch around to the back sliding door and when we saw lightning we'd start counting. It became a game and hopefully a tradition that I could pass down to my kids. I hope it lessened their fears, I guess we'll find out at the next storm.
