Party Time

So I haven't blogged in a week, it's been a really long week with lots of stuff in it, but it ended with a bang. Benji had his 5th birthday party. The kids were so cute and good (thank goodness because there were 11 of them, don't ask me what I was thinking, but seriously they were sooooo good we could have had a few more, well maybe not). It was my niece and I wrangling all the kids until Dave's mom came and took pics for us (thank goodness because then I would have ended up with none, but seriously the kids were good).

We played games, the whole time of which the kids kept asking if they could go outside and play. I guess if I would have just had a party of playing outside it would have been just as big a hit. Isn't it funny how we go all out trying to entertain kids when sometimes the best entertainment is the stuff they make up for themselves? Anyway we played ghost toss, who am I?, pass game, decorated cookies, boo bingo, pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern, opened presents and ate cake and ice cream (oh and played outside for a little bit). It was really fun and stressful for mommy because I take on too much, but secretly enjoy it.

The worst fiasco was the cake. The fondant was too dry and it was too late to fix it and I had to do a lot of patch work. I just don't really even want to talk about it, but it turned out fine and kids don't care. I love kids.
