Needle Biopsy- Read only if you dare.

So today I went in for my needle biopsy. They had everything set up on the tray and ready to go. The needle was huge and I was freaking out just looking at it. The doctor was late, so I had to sit and stare at this thing for 10 minutes. That's not a very good thing to do to a person. Luckily I had my mother-in-law there to hold my hand and tell me everything was going to be okay. Finally the doctor came in and did an ultrasound on my neck and jabbed the needle in and they kept poking around trying to get samples. It was the most horrible experience of my life.

Then I woke up, and I realized I had been daymaring. Actually the needle was small, but never punctured my skin. The doctor took a couple of looks in the ultrasound machine and decided the biopsy wasn't necessary. My thyroid was large, and some of the nodules were huge, but they didn't look cancerous. Then he looked at my blood test results and said my thyroid was functioning at a low normal and asked how my symptoms were. I told him and he set me up right away with some samples of synthroid and a prescription. I'll have to take the stuff for the rest of my life, but if I can feel good, finally (really for the first time in a long time) it's totally worth it to me. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks when they fully take effect. I am just happy as a clam (if clams are really happy) and I am so excited to start this new life of energy and get back to what I always imagined for myself. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers, it means a lot to me.
