Our Saturday

Yesterday we spent the day touring the national monuments or at least the ones we missed when we were here last time. We were hoping we could get tickets to go up on top of the Washington Monument, but they were all out, Benji was so sad (don't worry I got tickets for Tuesday online, luckily they still had some while we're here. The only dates available were Tuesday and Wednesday and then May 26th unless you want to go stand in line at 8 am trying to get some). So from there we took a little detour across the Potomac River and went to the Jefferson Memorial and then it wound around to the FDR Memorial which eventually led us back to the Lincoln Memorial and back to the Washington Monument via the WWII Memorial. I think round trip it took us 4-5 hours (a nice looooong walk). It was a beautiful day and I'm not sure if we'll be here for the cherry blossoms, but you could see the buds on the trees. They predicted they would bloom the week after we're gone. I'm a little disappointed about that. Maybe if everyone prays for really warm weather they'll pop out sooner and we can enjoy them. Anyway the weather is finally cooperating for us and we can finally get out and enjoy the outside along with everyone else (you'd think it was tourist season around here ;) ). We have 2 weeks left. I can hardly stand myself, but at the same time I'm trying to think of all the things to do before we leave, hopefully we have it mostly covered, who knows when or if we'll be here again.
I really hope you get a kick out of this one: (if not let me know)
